KATHUA, July 17: Senior Congress leader and former Member Legislative Council, Subash Gupta along with many people paid rich tributes to Late Girdhari Lal Dogra, Ex Finance Minister and Ex-Member Parliament on his 105th birth anniversary, here today at Dayala Chak.
A large number of people were present to pay homage to veteran Congress leader known for his honesty, simplicity, and dedication for his service to the poor and downtrodden.
Mr Gupta, while paying tributes to Girdhari Lal Dogra, recalled the contribution of Dogra for the development of the State. He particularly highlighted his humbleness and dedicated service towards the poor and deprived section of the society.
“Dogra Sahib was the leader of the masses and always felt pleasure in solving the genuine problem of the common public,” Gupta said adding that the people of our State are proud that such a charismatic leader was born here at village Bhiya of Hiranagar.
Gupta also recalled the contribution of Late Dogra towards the development of the State. He especially highlighted his humility and dedicated service towards poor and deprived section of society, saying one needs to learn from the example set by him to serve the people. He said that Dogra was a leader of the masses and always remained connected with the people’s problems and worked for their redressal throughout his life.
Gupta further added that politician like Dogra were very few in number today and we should take inspiration from his good deeds. “It is because of these qualities that people always remember and respect him,” he said and added that following the footsteps of Girdhari Lal Dogra would be the real tribute to him on his birth anniversary.
Prominent among others, who paid tributes on the occasion, included Anat Ram Dogra,Yugal Kishor Bali, Surinder Singh (Ex sarpanch), Narinder Rathor, Romesh Sharma (Panch), Ganesh Sharma (Panch), Bhagwan Dass, Som Nath Verma, Parveen Bhagat, Sahil Salaria, Vishal Sharma and Om Prakash.
