Congress beats BJP on 19 seats in Bihar

NEW DELHI :  As many as 19 of the total 27 seats  won by Congress in the Bihar assembly polls, are bagged by it in a straight contest against its traditional rival BJP.
“Out of the 28 seats in which the Congress and the BJP were in direct contest, 19 seats were won by Congress”, the party asserted on its official twitter page today.
The party also ridiculed a jibe made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the election campaign for discounting the Congress as no-entity in the electoral battle in that state.         Mr Modi had ridiculed the Congress at a rally in Purnia on November 2 last saying “Yeh Kaisa Mahagathbandhan Hei, Jisne Jo 40 seats Congress Ko Dee Hei woh to Ham Jeet Hee Gaye Hein” (What sort of this Grand Alliance is, We have already won the 40 seat which they have allotted to the Congress), the party observed quoting the  PM’s jibe.        In another tweet, the party further targeted Mr Modi for his ‘poor show’ saying that of the 31 places where the Prime Minister addressed election rallies, his candidates lost election at 20.        Contrary to this, the party has won eight of the 12 seats for which its Vice President Rahul Gandhi addressed poll meetings, the party asserted in the tweet lauding the role of Gandhi family scion.
