Congress complains to EC after Kejriwal repeats bribe remarks

NEW DELHI : Congress today filed another complaint with the Election Commission(EC) after Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal repeated his ‘bribe’ remarks at a rally East Delhi’s Krishna Nagar last night.

After receiving a notice from the EC over his earlier remarks asking voters to ‘take money from the Congress and BJP but vote for AAP’, Mr Kejriwal repeated the remarks at the rally.     “We have filed a complaint against Mr Kejriwal for making similar comments again. He is repeatedly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC),” K C Mittal of the Congress legal cell told reporters here.

“For repeated violations, the EC has power to de-recognise the political party,” Mr Mittal said.   Congress had on Monday complained to the EC for similar remarks made by the AAP chief at a rally on Sunday. (AGENCIES)
