Congress to increase tally of seats in upcoming polls: Bhalla

JAMMU, Nov 3: In the run-up to the Assembly poll, the ruling Congress in Jammu and Kashmir today  said it had a progressive agenda for all three regions of the State and was contesting the election on  development plank.
This was stated by senior Congress leader, Minister for Housing, Culture and Horticulture Raman Bhalla, while addressing public meeting in Kryani Talab area of Bhatindi in Gandhi Nagar constituency. Mr Bhalla said that the party would notch up highest-ever tally of seats in Jammu region in the upcoming polls.
“The party has a progressive agenda for all the three regions–Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. It has entered the poll arena on the strength of its enviable developmental recordâ, he said. The Congress had vision of a vibrant, progressive and united Jammu and Kashmir, Minister added.
Mr Bhalla asked the people to vote for Congress party in the forthcoming Assembly elections, so that the developmental works in the State particularly Gandhi Nagar constituency are taken to new heights. He said that the educational infrastructure, power and water infrastructure, road connectivity, health infrastructure and sports infrastructure in every area falling under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar constituency has witnessed large scale changes, which the people can judge of their own.
Minister assured the people that if his party is voted to power again, a new phase of development will be started in the Gandhi Nagar constituency as the party gives the priority to the prosperity and development of the State.
He added that the Congress party is committed to create atmosphere of brotherhood, peace and prosperity in the three regions of the State.
Apart from creating unimaginable infrastructural facilities, all over the State, Ghulam Nabi Azad as  Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir resolved the long pending demands of people by creating new districts in the State.
Those days will be remembered as a golden period, with respect to growth and development, especially by public of the whole Gandhi Nagar constituency, he added.
