JAMMU, Sept 8: A team of Congress led by member, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), Arun Sharma conducted a two-day tour of flood affected areas of Vijaypur Constituency to take stock of flood like situation arisen due to heavy rains.
The Congress team including Bishamber Singh, Omkar Singh, Ch Ramesh Lal, Raj Kumar, Baldev Raj, B N Sharma, Pammi Choudhary, Kamal Kumar, Dev Raj, Suresh Verma and Sumiter Singh visited Koulpur, Rattan Pur, Pakhri, Kajyal, Bajwati, Govindgarh, Rangoor, Nanga, Ramgarh, Ramloo, Mahal, Jerda, Rakh Barotian, Sangawal, Salmeri, Badhori, Rahya and many other areas, met the flood victims and listened to their grievances.
The Congress leaders observed that torrential rainfall claimed many lives including human and animals, damaged cattle sheds, roads, streets, houses, crops and power network.
They assured the villagers that their losses will be take up with the Government on higher level for adequate compensation.
