JAMMU, May 18: The State unit of BJP expressed its gratitude and thanks to the voters of the State, who have sent its three MPs to the Parliament.
The newly elected Members of Parliament- Jugal Kishore Sharma and Dr. Jitendra Singh while addressing press conference at party headquarters here today along with leader of Legislative Party Ashok Khajuria and State general secretaries Bali Bhagat and Rajiv Jasrotia, said the people have taught a lesson to the coalition partners for their anti people policies.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, said that the credit for BJP’s victory goes to the people and party cadre. The people of the State have reposed faith in BJP and have unambiguously rejected National Conference-Congress combine.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, while thanking the voters of Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Constituency, said that BJP has scripted a history in the State’s Polity when one of the tallest Congress leader and Union Cabinet Minister was made to eat humble pie by the voters and hard and dedicated work of party activists. He said that in spite of making all out efforts to lure the voters by the coalition candidate and leaders by various allurements, people preferred to give BJP unprecedented win. The voters have voted for progress security and safety in the constituency rejecting the divisive politics and campaign of the Congress. He said that the BJP victory is a vindication of party’s agenda and stand on Jammu and Kashmir.
Later a felicitation function was organized by the SC Morcha of the party led by Surinder Bhagat at BJP headquarters here in which both the newly elected MPs were felicitated.
The function was attended among others by BJP Legislative party leader Ashok Khajuria, party organizing secretary Ashok Kaul, general secretary Bali Bhagat, MLAs Prof Garu Ram and Bharat Bushan.
Addressing the function both Dr Singh and Jugal Kishore Sharma said that the people belonging to SC community all over the country proved all the claims wrong that they (SCs) were the vote bank of a particular party as over 90 percent people of the community voted for strengthening the nationalist forces in the country.
