Congress protests against price hike of petrol, diesel

RAJOURI, Mar 18: Congress Party organized today an impressive rally at Koteranka against unprecedented price hike and piling up issues of people in the backward area of Darhal Bidhal constituency.
The rally was organized by the local Congress unit under the leadership of senior leader Masood Chaudhary and addressed by former Minister and DCC president Shabir Ahmad Khan, Vice Chairman of DDC Qayoom Mir, DDC member Karamat Malik and several other prominent leaders of the party.
The speakers lashed out at the Modi Government for the rising inflation and unprecedented price hike of petrol, diesel and LPG and all commodities of common use, saying due to steep hike in prices of these commodities, the entire poor population is under tremendous economic pressure while the rich sections and capitalists are ruling the country.
Addressing the gathering, Shabir Ahmad Khan referred to the various anti-people decisions of the BJP Government and the unprecedented hike in petrol, diesel and LPG prices. He demanded roll back of excise duty and other taxes to give relief to the people.
He said that the Government is insensitive to the sufferings of the people and not listening to different agitating sections including farmers and poor people. He assured that the DDC shall take care of the genuine issues of development of each area in the district.
Masood chaudhary in his address referred to numerous hardships faced by the people under BJP regime. He said that Congress would continue to hit the streets against the wrong policies of the Modi Government, especially fleecing of the people in garb of huge taxes.
