Congress sans ideology, principle in practice: Ruhullah

Srinagar, Nov 18: Former Minister and the National Conference leader Ruhullah Mehdi today lashed out at Congress for not taking a firm stand and also that the party is clueless about how to regain its lost power.
In a series of tweets, Mehdi said that if J&K stands betrayed today that’s only because of the Congress. He said that it was Congress that promised people secular and inclusive India, but surrendered in front of the BJP.
“The fact is that Congress is a mere political party with no ideology & principles in practice to stand for. Secular nation & sovereign promises like Art 370 where what they stood for in the beginning. After 70 years they are so clueless that they don’t even know what they stand for,” he said in a tweet.
In another tweet, he said: “If we stand betrayed today after 70 years, it’s only because of Congress which promised not only J&K but the entire Muslim population an inclusive & secular India and after 70 years get bullied by BJP & fall in submission to their (BJP’s) vocal hindutva & “Nationalistic” shout.”
Notably, the Congress has recently joined the Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration which is an amalgam of the regional parties in J&K-where the major party is the National Conference-whose agenda is the restoration of the special status of J&K including the restoration of the statehood.
