RAJOURI, Aug 17: The Congress Government has set example of development and growth in the State in general and in far-flung and border district like Rajouri in particular, said former Minister of State for Health and MLA Rajouri, Shabir Ahmed Khan while addressing a public meeting at Ghambir Mughlan after laying foundation stone of Inspection Hut, which is to be constructed against an estimated cost of Rs 41 lacs at Ghambir Mughlan.
Khan said that besides up-gradation of infrastructure under core sectors, tourism potential of Rajouri district is being explored fully by developing scenic spots and up-gradation of tourist related infrastructure. Hanging Garden at Dhani Dhar Fort shall be developed soon against an estimated cost of Rs 3.50 crores out of which 15% of funds have been released so far besides upgradation of TRC at Shadara Sharief, creation of way site facilities along it, he added.
Every possible resource is being mobilized and pooled to provide basic facilities to the people with focus on equitable opportunities of development and uniform justice to poor, backward and hilly areas” he said, adding the Government is abreast with the problems of the people and no stone will be left unturned to redress their grievances.
People of the area apprised the local MLA regarding their losses due to heavy rain in last couple of days. Khan said that people who lost agriculture land, products and assets in the recent flash flood and heavy rain shall be provided Ex-gratia soon. Khan on spot talked to the District Development Commissioner Rajouri and asked him to issue directions to the concerned Tehsildars for assessment of the loss faced by the people of Rajouri District in general and Rajouri Constituency in particular.
Khan appealed the Minister for CAPD to provide free ration for three months to the affected people.
