JAMMU, Sept 20: Senior Congress leader and candidate for Bahu constituency, Taranjit Singh Tony today promised that if the Congress party forms the next government in Jammu and Kashmir, it will restore the pension benefits for all citizens.
Tony today intensified his poll campaign in Bahu constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Tony criticized the BJP’s proxy administration for its mistreatment of pension beneficiaries, particularly women and senior citizens, who he claimed are being subjected to unnecessary harassment under the guise of pension verification.
“The BJP-led administration has failed to deliver justice to the most vulnerable sections of society. Women and senior citizens are being subjected to needless delays and bureaucratic harassment when it comes to their rightful pensions. This is unacceptable,” he said and assured the people of Bahu constituency that a Congress government would reinstate pensions for all, ensuring that no individual is left out or mistreated.
“Under BJP’s rule, women, senior citizens, and other vulnerable groups have been subjected to unnecessary bureaucratic harassment in the name of pension verification. Instead of providing relief, the BJP’s policies have worsened the lives of those dependent on pensions for their survival,” he said.
He appealed to the voters to support him in the upcoming Assembly elections and said, “Your support is crucial not just for me, but for a better future where the dignity and rights of all citizens are upheld. If elected, I promise to work towards an inclusive and welfare-oriented administration that prioritizes the needs of the people over bureaucratic red tape.”
