Connectivity vital for socio economic upliftment: Kohli

RAJOURI, Nov 2: Asserting that better road connectivity is pivotal  for bringing speedy socio – economic transformation  in the State, Minister  for Transport, Abdul Ghani Kohli today termed R&B as a core sector for State’s overall  development .
The Minister said this while  reviewing the progress achieved under the district plan.
While reviewing the progress achieved  by R&B Department, Mr  Kohli said that priority  should be on extending road connectivity  to inaccessible  and remote areas like Panjah, Kharab, Barmandal, Soom as the roads in these areas are in dilapidated  conditions and need immediate  attention. Meanwhile, he  directed  the Executive  Engineer PMGSY to expedite  the work on Khwas bridge as the people   are suffering due to lack of connectivity .
Mr Kohli said that the  Government  is very keen to explore and promote new tourist destinations in State as these new tourist spots  will not only  boost the economic  conditions  of the locals of the area but will also  provide  job to the unemployed  youth.
He directed the Chief Executive Officer,  Tourism Development Authority, Rajouri to explore the tourism potential of “Dhanti-Qila ‘so as to bring Kalakote area on the tourist  map .He also directed him to ensure adequate facilities  at Tattapani.
Regarding health sector, CMO Rajouri was asked to ensure upgradation  of CHC Teryath.
Expressing dismay over less supply of  ration in Kalakote , Minister  directed Assistant Director CA&PD  to streamline the same    on priority basis.
