JAMMU, Mar 5: The Post Graduate Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC) Jammu organized a week-long programme under the banner of Indian Association of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics (IACDE) to celebrate Cons-Endo Day.
This programme commence with conduction of dental camps in collaboration with Department of Preventive & Community Dentistry, IGGDC. In the dental camps, the underprivileged children were educated about oral hygiene and minor treatments were provided.
Dr Rakesh Krishna Gupta, Principal IGGDC, was the chief guest while Dr Girish Chander Gupta, Medical Superintendent and Kiran Raina, Administrative officer, were the guests of honour. The programme was inaugurated with ceremonial lamp lightening.
The scientific session began with poster presentations by BDS and MDS students and thereafter, Inter-departmental Quiz held. Dr Azhar Malik, Professor and HoD Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics and executive committee member of IACDE, was the organizing chairman along with Dr Rachna Dhani (Assistant Professor) being the organizing secretary of this event. Dr Ravinder Bhagat (Lecturer) and Dr Sukhbir Kour (Registrar) successfully conducted the Quiz.
The scientific programme was followed by cultural activities where contributions were also witnessed in the form of dance, singing and stand-up comedy. Dr Rudra Koul was the cultural secretary for the event. Dr Kanchan Bhagat contributed as stage secretary and Dr Ashish Choudhary as treasurer. The whole event marked the comprehensive development in the Dental Science. This event provided the opportunities to the budding dentist to interact and boost their talents.
The event concluded with valedictory function where the winners of the events were honoured by the chief guest and the guests of honour with certificates duty signed by president IACDE, DCI president and patron Dr Dibyendu Mazumdar, Principal IGGDC and HoD, Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, IGGDC Jammu.
