Consolidate worker at RTO succumbs to injuries

Srinagar, Aug 21: A consolidate worker of RTO, Kashmir who was battling for his life after he was crushed by a car on National Highway today succumbed to his injuries.
Sajad Ahmad Dar a resident of Bemina was a part of a checking squad of RTO and was stationed near Shikargah in Lawaypora on Wednesday when a car came and crushed him resulting in grievous injuries.
He was taken to SKIMS on the same day and was put on ventilator support, however, he breathed his last on Friday morning leaving his family and colleagues in utter shock.
In this regard, J&K Employees and Workers Welfare Federation (JKEWWF) paid tributes to him, while also demanding Rs 1 crore compensation must be provided to his family.
The Federation said that the Convener JKEWWF Mohammad Afzal Bhat Fatehpuri along with the Executive Committee today participated in the funeral prayers of Sajad Ahmad Dar who was a consolidate worker of RTO Office Srinagar.
He said these temporary workers are the backbone of the Transport Department but unfortunately their case of releasing salaries and orders of regularisation is still hanging in the Secretariat.
He said that the Government should make a comprehensive policy for their regularisation and their immediate release of salaries. He also demanded an amount of Rs 1Crore as compensation to the family of the deceased.
