JAMMU, Mar 29: Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit has claimed some conspiracy against the annual Amarnath pilgrimage.
In a press conference here today Shiv Sena J&K president, Manish Sahni said certain elements are planning to hit the economy of Jammu which to a large extent is dependent on the religious pilgrimage.
“Before the year 2014, Manmohan Government had promised to send only 1-2 trains to Katra after the business class of Jammu staged protest but in Modi regime, almost all the trains are reaching Katra directly hitting the business of Jammu,” he said adding that the devotees are being deprived of the Darshan and blessings at the historical temples of Kol Kandoli and Deva Mai.
The Shiv Sena leader further alleged that now under a well hatched conspiracy, preparations have been made to keep Jammu out of the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra as trains would be reaching Kashmir directly and the main base camp has been built in Srinagar’s Pantha Chowk.
“Despite the laying of foundation stone twice in 2021 and 2023, work of Amarnath Yatra Base Camp in Jammu has not progressed,” he maintained.
Sahni said that all the businesses related to religious tourism including hotels, taxis etc in Jammu are facing a severe economic recession.
