Constitute Medical Board to examine Advocate Wazir: HC

JAMMU, Aug 6: High Court today directed the Principal of Government Medical College Jammu to constitute a Medical Board for examination of Advocate Raman Wazir, who was recovered from Chandigarh yesterday.
After hearing Advocates Abhinav Sharma, Pranav Kohli and  AP Singh for the Bar Association whereas Deputy AG Ranjit Singh for the Police, Justice Tashi Rabstan directed Principal, Medical College Jammu to constitute a Medical Board comprising of Psychiatric expert and general physician etc.
“If the Medical Board opines that the missing Advocate is now fit for making a statement, the police authorities would be allowed to record his statement in presence of a Judicial Magistrate”, High Court said.
Justice Rabstan also directed Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu to forthwith ensure the complete security of Advocate Raman Wazir and ensure that no stranger has any type of access to him.
Earlier, Advocate Raman Wazir was produced before the court by the SIT and after brief interaction with him, the court opined that he requires immediate proper medical examination.
Meanwhile, the Bar has decided to resume work from Monday.
