Constitution Day celebrated in J&K with fervour, enthusiasm

JAMMU, Nov 26: Under “Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Swabhimaan” campaign, the Constitution Day was celebrated in Jammu and Kashmir with enthusiasm.
Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (JKLA), Abdul Rahim Rather today led the celebrations of Constitution Day by reading out the Preamble of the Constitution at Central Hall of Assembly Complex here.

Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker highlighted that this day marks a significant milestone in our country’s democratic progression.
He reiterated that by celebrating this day, we all have an opportunity to acknowledge the contribution of the framers of the Constitution.
J&K BJP celebrated the day of adoption of the Indian Constitution. BJP General Secretary (organization) Ashok Koul, BJP National Secretary & MLA Dr. Narinder Singh and MLA Ch. Vikram Randhawa addressed the programme.
BJP leaders also paid floral tribute to the Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar remembering his important contribution to the framing and adoption of the Indian Constitution.
Former Minister Ex MLA and senior leader of BJP Sukhnandan Choudhary also paid tribute to Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar (Baba Saheb). He said that governments may come and go, but our democracy and fundamental rights must flourish.
Priya Sethi, Senior BJP leader, Former Minister and Member of the National Executive also addressed a programme and emphasized the enduring significance of India’s Constitution in safeguarding citizens’ rights and fostering national unity.
Bharatiya Janata Party, Samba celebrated Constitution Day today in honour of the adoption of India’s Constitution in 1949.
A similar function was held here at PCC HQ Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu. The function was organized by District Congress Committee Jammu led by Th. Manmohan Singh.
Former Minister and Senior Congress leader Mula Ram presided over the function.
Senior leaders Yogesh Sawhney (Former Minister), Rajnish Sharma (Treasurer PCC), Hari Singh Chib, T. S. Tony(DDC), Bhushan Dogra, Narinder Sharma, Gurdarshan Singh, Dwarka Choudhary, Rajinder Singh Jamwal, Suresh Dogra, Sanjeev Panda, Kapil Singh, Vijay Sharma (Seva Dal), Madan Lal Chalotra(OBC) and Zahoor Tantery were also present.
Similar functions were also organized by District Committees Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Reasi, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch and also in almost all the district Headquarters in Kashmir Valley.
Srinagar District Congress Committee held a function to celebrate the Samvidhan Divas. The function was presided by District President Irfan Naqib.
Similar functions were held in Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Budgam, Ganderbal, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag districts in Kashmir province.
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) also celebrated the day and declared its commitment to protect and respect the Constitution as a sacred document for all citizens.
The program, held at Party Office Satwari brought together BSP seniors, including State President Darshan Rana, State Vice President Charanjit Chargotra, State Coordinator Gurbaksh Gourav, State General Secretary Shashi Bushan Thapa and others.
Apni Party today celebrated Constitution Day that provides equal opportunity and protects the rights of the citizen of the country under the Constitution of India.
A program was organised to celebrate the day at the Apni Party Office in Jammu. Dr BR Ambedkar was remembered for his contribution in the frame work of the Constitution.
The photo of Dr BR Ambedkar was garlanded with flowers and his unmatched contribution was remembered by the Party leaders.
In continuation of the activities commemorating Samvidhan Divas 2024, the Law School organized a range of events today, including a Preamble reading of the Indian Constitution.
Dr. Seema Rohmetra, Director, The Law School, spoke on the occasion, emphasizing the significance of the Preamble as a key to open the minds of the framers of the Indian Constitution and a guide to understanding the nation’s foundational values.
The Preamble reading activity was attended by faculty members, students, and non-teaching staff, all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to the noble ideals and values enshrined in the Constitution.
In order to celebrate adoption of Constitution of India, a celebration was held at Bn Hqrs, under the overall supervision of Suram Singh (SSP) Commandant JKAP-8th Battalion, Miran Sahib Jammu.
Speaking on this occasion COJKAP-8th Bn told that Indian Constitution, was adopted on November 26, 1949, and it came into effect on January 26, 1950. It is the foundational document which defines India as Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, and Democratic Republic Country. It guarantees the fundamental rights to all the citizens. Principles of State Policy have also been provided in the said document.
National Constitution Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at SMVDU today. The event was attended by attended by faculty, staff and security personnel of the University.
The ceremony was led by the Registrar of the University, Ajay Kumar Sharma. The occasion was marked by a solemn pledge taken by all present to uphold the spirit of the Indian Constitution.
The Constitution Day was celebrated today at Central Sanskrit University Shri Ranbir Campus, Kot- Bhalwal, Jammu. On the occasion, the Campus Director Prof. Shreedhar Mishra administered an oath on the Preamble of the Constitution to the professors, staff and students.
Constitution Day celebrated in Directorate of Health Services Jammu and Health institutions of Jammu Division, under the supervision of DHS Dr. Rakesh Magotra. A preamble reading ceremony was held, which was attended by all officers and officials of the Directorate and adjoining offices.
Constitution Day was also observed in health institutions of all Districts and Blocks of Jammu Division with active participation of Chief Medical Officers, Medical Superintendents and Block Medical Officers along with other officers and officials of respective Districts and Blocks.
Government Degree College Majalta observed the day with enthusiastic participation from the principal, faculty, and students. In her address, the principal of the college, Prof.(Dr.) Shalini Sharma, emphasized the pivotal role of the Constitution in shaping the nation.
She paid tribute to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, for his dedication to ensuring inclusivity and representation of all sections of society.
The NSS Units of Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua and Department of Political Science in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Kathua, organized a vibrant celebration on this day.
Prof. Seema Mir, Principal of GDC Kathua, presided over the event as the Chief Guest. In her inspiring address, she emphasized the enduring relevance of the Constitution and its role in shaping India’s democratic ethos.
The Department of Political Science in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government Degree College Thannamandi celebrated Constitution Day as part of Viksit Bharat Abhiyan @2047 here today.
In this regard a function was organized under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Farooq Ahmed, Principal of the College in which Dr. Ashaq Malik, Coordinator, IQAC was resource person. Dr. Mohd Zabair and Dr. Ansir Ahmed Sheikh from the Department of Political Science coordinated the event.
The Electoral Literacy Club of Dogra Degree College also celebrated the day with an inspiring event dedicated to fostering awareness and respect of the Constitution of India among the college students,
To commemorate the day, NSS Unit in collaboration with Electoral Literacy Committee of GDC Sidhra organised a pledge to mark the occasion of the adoption of Constitution.
All the faculty members and the students took the pledge while remembering as the guiding purposes and principles of the Introductory document of the Constitution.
The NSS Unit of GDC Ramkote celebrated Constitution Day with great fervour. The programme started with the reading of the preamble by the Principal, faculty and all students of the college.
Poonam Rani, faculty from the department of Political Science delivered a lecture on “The Significance of the Indian Constitution” highlighting that the constitution established India as a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic, guaranteeing its citizens justice, liberty, equality and fraternity.
The School of Sciences, Cluster University of Jammu celebrated National Constitution day, under the supervision of Dean, Faculty of Sciences, Dr. Chander Shekhar Gupta.
The program began with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Meenu Sharma from Department of Geology. The significance of the day was highlighted, emphasizing the role of the Constitution as the backbone of India’s democratic system.
GDC Ramnagar celebrated the 75th Constitution Day, under the esteemed patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, Principal of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar.
Prof. Ritika Mahajan delivered a thought-provoking lecture on the significance of Constitution Day, emphasizing its relevance in shaping India’s democratic fabric.

Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur, celebrated “Constitution Day” under the overall supervision of the Director SKPA Udhampur. While speaking on the occasion Ramnish Gupta SSP Dy. Director (Administration) highlighted about the importance of this historical Constitution Day of India.
Constitution Day was celebrated at Verinder Kumar Government HSS, Binoon, Kishtwar, under the able guidance and overall supervision of Principal Deepak Sharma.
Deepak Sharma, highlighted about the values and principles enshrined in the Constitution and sensitized the staff and students about the Constitution Day as it is being celebrated today across the country to mark the adopting of the Indian Constitution by the Constituent Assembly.

The Constitution Day was celebrated at the UT Secretariat Leh. All the Secretariat officials and officers participated in the Constitution Day celebration.
Principal Secretary, UT Ladakh, Sanjeev Khirwar read out the Preamble.
He also exhorted that every Indian Citizen must abide by the values enshrined in the Preamble and adhere to the Fundamental Duties prescribed in the Constitution.
On National Constitution Day, Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today took the pledge and read the Preamble of the Constitution at Council Secretariat, Kargil.
The CEC stressed upholding and protecting India’s sovereignty, unity, and integrity and the ideals and institutions included in the Constitution.
Govt. College for Women, Bhagwati Nagar organized a thought-provoking symposium competition celebrating the significance of the Indian Constitution. The event aimed to foster awareness among students about their constitutional rights and responsibilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college, Dr. Meeru Abrol emphasized the importance of celebrating Constitution Day to honour the vision of the framers of the Constitution. In her address, she remarked, “The Constitution is the cornerstone of our democracy, and events like these encourage young minds to engage with its principles critically and constructively.”
Aryans College of Law, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh organized a Nukkar Natak. Aryans LLB and BA LLB students participated in nukkar natak and portrayed various acts on “Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Samman”, campaign launched by Vice President of India to celebrate 75th year of Indian Constitution.
Dr Devinder Singla, Principal, Aryans College of Law said the campaign “Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Samman” reflects India’s unwavering commitment to upholding the principles of justice, equality, and liberty enshrined in the Constitution.
The NSS Unit of Government College of Education celebrated National Constitution Day with great enthusiasm and fervour. The event featured an array of activities conducted across three venues, the college campus, Government Girls High School Gandhi Nagar and Government Model Middle School Satwari.

Govt. Dy. SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College, Kastigarh, celebrated National Constitution Day with great enthusiasm. The event was conducted under the patronage of Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, Principal of the college.
GDC Marh celebrated Constitution Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul, Principal GDC Marh.
The Principal, in his inaugural address, emphasized the significance of the Constitution and its role in shaping the nation’s destiny and also asked students to specially focus on Constitution reading so that they can imbibe the principles enshrined in it.

The Special Guest and Keynote Speaker Sandeep Singh Sen, Sub-Judge, District and Sessions Court, Samba, and Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Samba, said, “The Constitution is not just a legal document but a living testament to our democratic values. Engaging in such debates and performances allows students to grasp the depth of Constitutional principles and prepare themselves as future custodians of justice.”
Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Chairman of Dogra Educational Trust said, “Our Constitution is the bedrock of our nation, providing a framework that allows us to thrive amidst our diverse languages, cultures, and religions. It is our supreme guide, fostering unity and democracy.”
The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar commemorated the 75th Constitution Day in line with directives from the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
The event, held under the supervision of Director NIT Srinagar Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, featured Prof. (HAG) Roohie Naaz Mir, In-charge Director, as the Chief Guest.
Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri, marked the celebration of Constitution Day, commemorating the adoption of the Indian Constitution.
The event was held in the Vice Chancellor’s secretariat and was attended by the senior officers and officials of the University. The VC Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, in his address, emphasized the importance of understanding the Constitution as the foundation of India’s democracy, which upholds the values of justice, equality, and fraternity.
The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) J&K observed Constitution Day across the Union Territory (UT) of J&K.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director General emphasized the importance of upholding the principles of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution.
In addition to the central event in Jammu, similar programs were organized at district and zonal levels under the guidance of the officers and officials of the Department.
The CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) Jammu, today celebrated the 75th Constitution Day with fervour and enthusiasm.
As part of the celebrations, Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Director, CSIR-IIIM, Jammu led the preamble reading celebrations and emphasized that by celebrating this significant day, we are recognizing and paying tribute to the founders of our Constitution.
Kathua Campus, University of Jammu commemorated Samvidhan Divas (Constitution Day) with great enthusiasm and reverence. The event began with a solemn Constitution Pledge ceremony.
Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus, University of Jammu in his message highlighted the importance of the Constitution as a living document that binds the diverse fabric of the nation.
Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority (JKLSA) under the directions of Ravinder Nath Wattal, Worthy Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Samba (Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge Samba), District Legal Services Authority, Samba observed the “Constitution Day”.
The program began with a keynote address by Sandeep Singh Sen, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Samba, who shed light on the significance of the Constitution as the foundation of our democracy.
District Police Doda observed the Constitution Day at all Police Stations, Police Posts level including other police establishments to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.
At District Hqrs, the preamble reading ceremony was held at DPL Doda in which all police officers/officials of District Police Lines participated and Preamble of the Indian Constitution was read out to all the participants.
On this occasion, SSP Doda Sandeep Kumar Mehta administered the pledge to officers/jawans of District Police Doda.
The Department of Law at Jammu University celebrated Constitution Day today with an insightful session led by guest speaker, Justice Subhash Gupta (Retd.), former District and Sessions Judge.
Justice Gupta delivered an engaging lecture on the importance of the Constitution of India, highlighting its evolution from the pre-independence era to modern times.
He discussed the profound impact of the Constitution in shaping India’s democratic framework and governance.
