We the residents of Kastigarh,a very vast and far flung area of district Doda want to draw the attention of DC Doda towards the condition of link road from Bhupapul to Lahri. This road is 16.5 km in length but it is incomplete and no construction work is in progress on the road. This road connects the entire area of Kastigarh including Kuddhar, Gurmul, Dhandal, Garh, Mundhar, Ziani, Dharouth, Shaleen. Due to poor progress of work on the road people have to suffer a lot.The condition becomes critical particularly for old and sick people. The work on this road was started in the year 2009 under PMGSY but the company which was constructing this road has stopped the construction work due to poor response from the district administration.Recently due to heavy rainfall in the concerned area, the condition of the road has become worse. We have to suffer a lot because it takes 10 to 12 hours for us to walk on foot for reaching our homes.
Therefore the district administration is being requested to repair the above said road as early as possible and to provide the necessary funds to construct the remaining part of the road.

Woes of Jawahar Nagar
We the residents of Jawahar Nagar, Talab Tillo want to put forth our long pending demands before the Municipal Commissioner JMC. Few years back PHE department laid a pipe line along the road side in the main colony road. But to this date neither the PHE nor the JMC repaired the tarred road, which resulted in further erosion of road surface and creation of pot holes in the road surface. However, PHE department claims that the road cut damage stands already paid to MCD Jammu. Now after a pretty long time the road requires immediate tarring and fixing of damaged tiles.
The condition of surface drains is such that the surface of the rain water sweeps into the plinth of the residential houses, there by causing dampness and every chance of making the structure unsafe. Kind attention for immediate repair of surface drain please.
Street light and bulbs have been provided, but one wonders whether they have been fixed as showpieces,as maximum of the street lights are non functional. Neither the PDD nor the JMC is varing for the maintenance of the street lights. Responsibility may kindly be fixed as to who is responsible for the maintenance of these street lights, because at the end of day it is only the general public who suffers because of the carelessness of the department.
One residential plot of the main colony road has become a dumping site of kachra and water materials. It has become a health hazard for whole of the colony and breeding ground for all insect and worms. Some legal action against the plot holders may kindly be initiated.
The nallah running alongside of the mohalla is really a health hazard for general population as some greedy residents dump their waste material and polythene bags in the nallah. It is requested that anti mosquito fuming may kindly be ordered to get rid of the mosquito menace.
There is only one cross cut drain in the entire struch of road length, which caters to the surface drain and rain water allowing the same to flow into the side nallah. But this cross drain does not suffice to entire catchment area. It is requested the cross cut drain may kindly be provided to bifurcate the rain and surface drain waters thus preventing the submerging of the road.

Rising noise pollution
The noise pollution level is on the rise in the city due to increasing traffic. The use of generators by shopkeepers day in and day out has compounded it further. The glaring example generators run without a break. The rising decibels are a cause of concern as it is affecting our lives. Traffic police is hard hit section of society of this menace. Hope, the authorities take notice of this situation and act accordingly.

Garbage dumps in Roop Nagar
This is to draw the attention of the JMC authorities towards the huge garbage dumps that have sprouted in Sector 2 Upper Roop Nagar JDA Club road, and adjoining areas. The sweepers after cleaning the drains, dump all rubbish all along the drains and leave it to dry.
Since they do not lift this even after days together, it becomes a source of nuisance for the residents. It becomes a fertile ground for mosquitoes to breed on and a place for stray cattle to forage for food.
During Summer season, these garbage dumps stink offensively causing great trouble to residents.
It is therefore urged to the JMC authorities that before temperature may soar, further, these dumps be removed at the earliest and sweepers be directed to maintain cleanliness in the colony on regular basis.

City roads in bad condition
After a brief period, the situation is back to square one. The roads in Jammu city are in deplorable condition as these are not traffic worthy and have become a cause of many accidents. At some places recent rains washed away several stretches of road causing great inconvenience to motorists and passengers alike particularly during night hours.
It seems that with Darbar move to Srinagar, concerned authorities have fallen into a slumber and will not wake up till Darbar comes back.
Take for example the Ambphalla-Bantalab road. It is damaged at several places. Janipur main chowk has developed many dangerous pot-holes. These pot-holes cause great impediments in traffic movement thereby often causes traffic jams besides becoming site prone to accidents.
To avoid any untoward incident it is requested that all roads in the city be black-topped to allow smooth vehicular movement.
