Construction of bunkers to provide some succour to border people: Sat

JAMMU, Dec 15: BJP State president & MLA, Sat Sharma today said that the decision of Central Government to start the work on construction of bunkers along International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) will provide succour to the denizens to some extent.
In a statement issued here, Sat Sharma termed it the humanly approach of the Government of India who he said is very much concerned for the welfare and development of this border State.
He said commencement of the process regarding construction of bunkers for IB and LoC in districts of Jammu region is commendable decision of Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh to protect the border people from shelling and firing by Pakistani troops in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch districts.
He said that the commencement of construction for 13029 individual and 1431 community bunkers having capacity of eight members for individual bunkers and of 40 persons for community bunkers out of 19000 individual and 4700 community bunkers announced by Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh during his earlier visit to the State is a big relief for the border inhabitants. He also complimented Union MoS, Dr. Jitendra Singh for his incessant and fruitful effort in taking up the issue with Ministry of Home Affairs promptly for the protection of border people from mischievous acts of Pakistan.
He added that the construction of bunkers was a long due and genuine demand which was continuously supported and taken up by State BJP and today it has been made possible by the imminent concern of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is deeply concerned with the plight of common masses.
Meanwhile, the BJP district president Kathua, Prem Nath Dogra while commenting on the decision of Union Home Minister said the border people who were subjected to many hardships and destruction due to Pak shelling will have a sigh of relief to some extent now. This way a long pending demand of these people was solved which the BJP has also raised from time to time.
Dogra said the Union MoS, Dr Jitendra Singh deserves all credit of taking up this issue with the  Union Home Minister and showing a lot of concern for the welfare of border people.
