This has reference to the news item ‘Board takes over management of Mata Sukrala, Bala Sundri’ DE Nov. 11.
The constitution of the Shrine Board for upkeep of two famous Shrines of Mata Sukrala and Bala Sundri by the Government deserves to praised. This step will certainly help in giving a serve boost to pilgrimage in the area. Besides, it will change the socio-economic outlook of this region which otherwise has remained neglected and backward. The upkeep of the shrines will also help in generation of employment opportunities for the local youth. The Katra town has witnessed much development after Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board was constituted. The Shrine became famous throughout the world. One wishes these shrines attain the same status after they come under the Board.
Likewise, all the temples in the Kashmir valley should also be brought under a Board for their upkeep and maintenance.
Will the Government do the same for them or will it allow the encroachers make hay ?
