Consumer Forum demands reduction in passenger fares

JAMMU, Feb 17: All India Consumer Forum held a meeting under the chairmanship of its convener Kapil Dev Sharma.
The meeting was attended by Thakur Dass, general secretary and newly registered members in different wards of Jammu city.
During the meeting, the participants demanded reduction in the fares of commercial transport vehicles across the State owing to decrease in fuel prices.
The participants also expressed concern over the traffic jams and flayed the Traffic Department for its failure to regulate the vehicular movement.
Kapil Dev Sharma while speaking impressed upon the members to find out the problems being faced by inhabitants in their respective wards for redressal from the concerned authorities.
Some members said that the ration holders of their areas are not being issued ration commodities as per specified scale of CAPD and no notice board indicating ration scale, rates of each commodity and present stock of ration found fixed in front of the depots.
They said that the higher authorities of CAPD should look into this matter for early redressal.
