People said “We have already removed monkeys from this tank seven to eight times and today also we have removed the monkeys and then protested. This water tank was built in the year 1973, before this the water to these villages was supplied from Jatwal. Currently, a tube well and water tank is being constructed in the village at a cost of Rs. 3 crore, which is incomplete due to which the Department is supplying contaminated water to the people from this old and dilapidated water tank”, the protestors alleged.
The protestors said that even in today’s modern era, “It is very unfortunate that in this modern and scientific age we have to struggle for clean water. It is even more unfortunate, although the Jal Shakti Department was already aware of this, the officials did not consider it appropriate to do anything. This is the only means of drinking water for the people from10 to 12 villages which is often contaminated by wild monkeys, said Shiv Neeraj Sing. He urged the administration to take cognizance of the same.
