Continue efforts in focused manner for passage of Bill: Koul to PNBMT

JAMMU, May 14: In order to intensify its struggle for passage of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Temples Bill a meeting was organised by PNBMT here, today in which senior BJP leader and community activist, Moti Koul was the chief guest.
The meeting was attended by prominent members of the community and the office bearers of the Trust. Koul, while speaking on the occasion exhorted the members of the Trust to continue the good work in a focussed manner for the passage of the Temples Bill.
Moti Koul advised the members of the Trust to enhance political engagement with the key members of the political spectrum in UT as well as at the centre level. He said that there is a lot of respect and appreciation for the efforts of the PNBMT in the community and the day is not far when we will witness the passage of the Temples Bill.
The meeting was also addressed by senior community activist Moti Lal Malla who gave a historical perspective of the KP struggle in Kashmir and also highlighted the difficulties faced by the community post 1990 and the stellar role of the KP leadership.
Virender Raina, Panun Kashmir president while speaking on the occasion said that the return of Kashmiri Pandits to Kashmir is a political issue and cannot be addressed by administrative measures alone. Protection preservation and reclamation of the temples of Kashmir is a historical responsibility of the community and PNBMT is at the forefront. “Recently we are also witnessing some well meaning members of the community dissipating their energies in different directions, it’s about time to pool in the resources and support PNBMT, who have the support of the community in this regard,” he added.
Senior BJP leader and Seh Prabhari Kashmir H.L.Bhat while speaking on the occasion said that in the days to come Trust needs to intensify its activities. He said that political engagement at different levels is the need of the hour. He added that the temples of Kashmir do not belong only to the KPs but belong to all the Hindus of India and it is our bounden duty to preserve them for the coming generations. He said that the passage of the Temples Bill would be the biggest confidence building measure for the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir.
The prominent who addressed the meeting included Roshan Lal Pandita Chairman of the Trust, Kashmiri Lal, founder member of the Trust, Sundri Lal Koul its secretary, MK Jalali and Shadi Lal.
