UDHAMPUR, Mar 27: A Contractor committed suicide by shooting himself with his own revolver at his house in Ward Number 7, Hari Nagar, Udhampur.
The deceased, identified as Deepak Kumar, (45) son of Hans Raj, resident of Ward Number 7, Hari Nagar Udhampur, shot himself with his revolver at about 1:30 am last night.
On hearing the bullet sound, family members rushed to the room and took him in an injured condition to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared him as brought dead.
Police said that cause of provocation behind the suicide was matter of investigation and inquest proceedings have been initiated under Section 194 BNSS.
Meanwhile, a decomposed dead body of an unidentified man was found this morning on the bank of river Tawi Dudhar Nallah.
According to the SHO Udhampur, Raghuvir Singh, the deceased appeared to be a beggar and the body has been shifted to mortuary room of Udhampur District Hospital for identification and post-mortem while inquest proceedings were initiated in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
