Contractors demand immediate clearance of pending bills

JAMMU, May 23: Contractors Association of Estates Division Jammu who are on protest for last one week for non clearance of their pending claims by the Estates Department have demanded that the same be cleared at an earliest.
The president of the Association, Sanjay Soi and vice president Rajinder Kumar said that they have renovated the bungalows of Chief Minister, other ministers, bureaucrats, officers and other Government buildings and the liabilities lying in crores of rupees are not being cleared by the Department till date forcing the contractors to resort to protest.
They said that the contractors have purchased the construction material on credit basis and they are unable to make the payment to laborers. They said the work done liabilities of 2007-08 to 2010-11 are also pending despite the clearance by Audit and Inspections Department.
In an appeal to the authorities of the Estates Division Jammu and Treasury Officer New Plots they demanded immediate clearance of pending bills.
