SRINAGAR, Mar 22: Irrigation and Flood Control Contractors Association (I&FCCA) today threatened agitation from March 25 if their withheld payments are not released by the State Government.
Scores of contractors today assembled at Engineering Complex here in Rajbagh and protested against non-payment of their work dues done since September 2014 floods.
The contractors said if Government won’t release their payments till March 25, then a protest programme would be issued. “The Government would be responsible for all the consequences,” they said.
Later, a delegation of the contractors met Chief Engineer, I&FC Kashmir, Javaid Jaffar and apprised him about their grievances. The Chief Engineer assured them that he is going to Jammu and by March 31, all their withheld dues would be cleared.
