Contractual Lecturers continue hunger strike

JAMMU, Jan 22: On the completion of 343th day of their hunger strike, agitating  10+2 Contractual Lecturers today held a strong protest demonstration in front of Press Club Jammu and raised slogans against the State Government for its apathetic attitude towards them.
These Contractual Lecturers are demanding their regularization as per Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010, a Legislation passed for the regularization of all Ad-hoc/ Contractual/ Consoli-dated/ Temporary employees.
While addressing the protest demonstration, the president of Contractual Lecturers Association, Arun Bakhshi alleged said that the State Government had adopted an insensitive attitude towards them by not even listening to their grievance and demand. He sought to justify their demand of regularization and appealed the Chief Minister as well as Governor to personally intervene into the matter.
Mr Bakhshi also accused the Government of adopting two yard sticks for the contractual employees on pick and choose basis.
Meanwhile,  Jeevan Kumar, Azarar Ahmed, Balvinder Kour and Pooja Salathia began their hunger strike today  replaced the earlier group.
