JAMMU, June 18: On 125th day of their ongoing hunger strike, the agitating Contractual Lecturers (10+2) held a unique protest demonstration by carrying placards with posters of Chief Minister and her ministers, shown blindfolded with black strip on their eyes and ears also.

Amidst raising of slogans, the protesting Contractual Lecturers alleged that CM Mehbooba Mufti, Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh, Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu and Education Minister Altaf Bukhari had turned a blind eye and deaf ear towards their genuine demand.
While addressing the protest demonstration, president of Contractual Lecturers (10+2) Association, Arun Bakhshi said that all these ministers have never seen and heard the grievances of 10+2 Contractual Lecturers and they were deliberately ignoring the genuine demand for regularization as per Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010.
He further said that through such kind of protest, they wanted to convey these ministers to open their eyes and ears and look into their genuine demand for regularization as per Civil Services Special Provision Act. 2010, as it has already been done in all department in case of Doctors, Engineers, Range Officers, Language Instructors, Information Officers as well as in case of teachers of Education Department. “Only Lecturers have been debarred from their right of regularization,” he rued.
Others, who addressed the gathering, included Jabbar Bhat and Seema Rajput.
Meanwhile, Rakesh Khajuria, Shams ud Din, Ramana Kumari and Rashmi Chadda began their chain hunger strike today.
