JAMMU, Jan 7: A convention of Jammu Kashmir Movement for Old Pension Scheme (JKMOPS) was held here today for pressing the government for restoration of Old Pension Scheme (OPS) in favour of NPS employees of J&K.
The convention was attended by hundreds of employees of various departments including a large number of teachers from Jammu province under the banner of JKMOPS.
Jammu Kashmir Teachers Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) supported the demand of OPS restoration.
The Convention was organised under the leadership of JKTJAC president, Vinod Sharma and JKTJAC chairman, Saleem Sagar and accompanied by JKMOPS coordinators-Aftab Malik, Parshant Sharma, Ashiq Jaral and Surinder Sharma. Speaking on the occasion Vinod Sharma laid stress on restoration of OPS in favour of all NPS employees of J&K who were appointed after 31.12.2009.
He said that the old age future of NPS employees is in dark and claimed that NPS is proving anti-employees.
Saleem Sagar demanded unconditional benefits of SRO-43 in favour of employees of J&K and said that at present the UT administration has imposed so many conditions that it is very difficult to the suffering families to get employment under SRO-43.
Those who also spoke on the occasion were Reyaz-ur Rehman, Parvez Iqbal, Najam Jafri, Rajesh Jamwal and others.
