Convention of Teachers Federation held

KATRA, July 5:  The one-day State Convention of All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation, under the aegis of Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh was held at Spiritual Growth Centre Katra.
Nirmal Kumar Choudhary, Chief Education Officer Reasi was chief guest on the occasion while  Prof Jagdish Prasad Singhal,  All India president of Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh and the  Sangathan Mantri  Mahendra Kapoor  were the main speakers in the convention, which was attended by teachers , eminent educationists and prominent citizens from across the State.
The two-day Abhiyas Varag to aware the worker at ground level about their responsibilities, duties towards the society and nation, also concluded today with the holding of convention.
In the Abhiyas Varag, total seven sessions on different issues /themes on strengthening of organisation and on teachers problems were held. The teachers  from across the State  raised several issues and demands like transparent transfer policy,  change of Primary classes textbooks,  exempting  teachers from non teaching assignments , outsourcing of MDM, proper adjustment of Master grade in State, etc.
Addressing the convention, Prof Jagdish Prasad Singhal stressed for early redressal of issues of SSA teachers in the State who are on agitation for the last ten months. He warned of State wide agitation if the issue of SSA teachers is not resolved within a month.     Prof Singhal stressed the need for reframing of new education policy in the country and State as well. He highlighted the importance of primary education in mother tongue and appealed the teachers to free students from the phobia of English, which has enslaved the masses and destroyed Indian model of education.  “We have to change the narrative of the society and the Government about the teachers by our excellence and hard work,” he added.
In his address,   Mahendra Kapoor, Rashtriya Sangathan Mantri Shaikshik Mahasangh, laid emphasis upon the teaching fraternity to work with great zeal and dedication to inculcate Indian values and culture among their students.
Nirmal Kumar Choudhary, CEO Reasi, said that it was   responsibility of the teachers to provide the moral education to the students to make the society and nation great in the world.
State general secretary Rattan Sharma highlighted different activities of the Federation in the State while State president Dev Raj Thakur presented formal vote of thanks.
