Cooperative Employees Union discusses demands

JAMMU, July 3: The employees of J&K Cooperative Union Employees’ Welfare Union today held a meeting under the chairmanship of union president, SK Sharma, to discuss their demands.
During the meeting, the participants discussed a number of problems which have piled up over the years due to the rigid attitude of the management of J&K Cooperative Union toward its employees.
All the employees unanimously supported the decision of the union president, that a charter of demands will be submitted to the General Secretary, J&K Cooperative Union, requesting him to accept the genuine demands of the employees which include enhancement of DA, HRA and other benefits, increasing retirement age by two years, placement of promoted employees in their respective scales, reserve funds for gratuity, providing treatment to retired employees at par with the State Government employees while paying their dues like Leave-encashment, Gratuity and other benefits.
The other demands of the union are time bound promotion in favour of employees, regular meetings between management and employees, proper maintenance of CPF of the employees and release of salary on month to month basis, as no salary has been paid to the employees for last three months.
