Cooperative Secy reviews functioning of JCCBL

JAMMU, May 24: Secretary Cooperatives Department, Dr Bashir Ahmad Bhat, held interactive session with the newly constituted Board of Administrators of Jammu Central Cooperative Bank Ltd (JCCBL) here today and discussed the issues related to the functioning of the bank.
The Government had recently constituted a Board of Administrators after the expiry of term of earlier elected Board by appointing Anuradha Gupta, ADDC, Jammu as its Chairperson.
The Secretary Cooperatives called upon the new functionaries of the Board to put in their best efforts to pave way for the smooth and transparent conduct of elections so that the democratic character of the cooperative institution is maintained.
He also advised the Board to initiate vigorous recovery drive for reducing the NPAs for improving the financial position of the Bank. He laid stress on introduction of refresher courses and training programmes for making the banking personnel familiar with modern banking system and latest guidelines of the State Govt/RBI/NABARD.
The new Chairperson briefed about the financial position of the bank as on 31.03.2017 and highlighted the areas of concern and also discussed the proposed action plan for streamlining the functioning of the Bank. She also requested the Secretary, Cooperatives to extend all possible help for improving the financial position of the bank.
The meeting was also attended by Mohd Alyas Khan, SDM, North (Member), Ranjeet Kotwal, District Audit Officer (Member), Kamlesh Kumar, DGM, NABARD and Mushtaq Ahmad, CEO/GM of JCCBL.
