RAJOURI, Apr 5: The police arrested a suspended Constable for posing himself as Vigilance officer and cheating officials connected with MNREGA and SSA related works in Kalakote and Nowshera area of the district.
The action was taken by police on the complaint of Sarpanch Broh in Kalakote area. The Sarpanch got suspicious over the activities of the Constable who used to black mail the staff of BDO offices and Panchayat members and extort money from them. He used to keep some files with him during so called inspection of the sites telling that he was Vigilance officer deputed by the SVO Jammu to check the MNREGA and SSA works.
SHO Kalakote Bikram Parihar on the complaint of Sarpanch arrested the Constable Jameel Ahmed, resident of Behrote in Rajouri. He was earlier posed in DPL Jammu and was under suspension for the last few years. He had devised this way to make easy buck.
