KISHTWAR, June 1: A police cop has been arrested for opening fire in the air with his service rifle in Bun Asthan area of the district.
As per police sources, incharge SPO Post Poochal Om Parkash, a resident of Poochal allegedly tried to barge into a house at Bun Asthan locality. After facing refusal, the cop opened fire in the air with his service rifle.
After hearing the gun shot, the people came out of their houses and reported the matter to police.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot, arrested the cop and seized his service weapon.
A case has been registered in this regard and investigation started.
