Srinagar, Sept 30: Police today booked a constable under Public Safety Act (PSA) who was involved in 11 ATM theft cases across Kashmir.
A police spokesman said that Police Station Pantha Chowk during the investigation of a case (FIR No 69/2018 under Section 420, 320 RPC) booked a person who was found involved in as many as 11 ATM theft cases in Jammu and Kashmir. It was also learnt that the accused is a police constable and is currently under suspension.
He said after in-depth investigation and analysis of CCTV footage, the culprit was arrested and recommended for Public Safety Act. “The PSA warrant was issued by DM Srinagar and the thief was shifted to Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu. The impartial and professional investigation in the case have been highly hailed and appreciated by the general people,” he said
He identified the accused as Ajaz ahmad Khan, son of Sonnaullah Khan, a resident of Hyhama.
