RAJOURI, Aug 2: A Selection Grade Constable of J&K Police was killed while five others injured when their un-controlled car was rammed into a tree in Narian area of Nowshera, this afternoon.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place when SGC, Abid Hussain Shah (50), posted at Thannamandi Police Station was returning to Rajouri from Jammu in his Swift car No. JK02BK/3220. His five relatives including a child were travelling with him.
At around 4.10 pm, when the vehicle reached near Narian, the speeding car went out of control in confusion while passing another vehicle and it was hit against a road side tree with great force. While Abid, who was driving the car was killed on the spot, five other injured were rushed to Nowshera hospital by police.
Seriously injured, three were referred to GMC Hospital Jammu. They were identified as Muzaffar Hussain (70), Nizam Din (83) and Rasool Fatima (60), all residents of Lah village in Thannamandi.
Two others undergoing treatment in Nowshera hospitals are- Barkat Begum (55), wife of Manzoor Hussain and six year old Heena Geelani, daughter of Shah Nawaz, resident of Lah.
