RAJOURI, Apr 29: A Police Constable was killed after his bike was forcefully hit by a truck in Dharamsal area of district Rajouri this morning.
Official sources said that the accident took place at around 6.30 am when the Constable who was on night duty at a naka point near Siot was returning to the Police Station on the motorcycle. On the way he was hit by truck bearing registration No. JK02AM/1911.
SHO Dharamsal Darshan Singh with some force men rushed to the spot after incident. The police seized the truck and arrested its driver- Mohd Farid, son of Mohd Afzal, resident of Mandi in Poonch.
The injured cop was rushed to Sunderbani hospital and then referred to GMC Hospital Jammu after providing preliminary treatment. He succumbed to injuries on the way. The body of the victim after postmortem was sent to his home town, Mandi.
