JAMMU, Apr 25: Gandhi Nagar police today arrested a senior grade police constable with 10 grams of heroin.
According to a police official, a police party of police station Gandhi Nagar today established a naka at Valmiki Chowk, Gandhi Nagar for checking/frisking of vehicles, during which one motorcycle bearing registration number JK14D-3423 being driven by Senior Grade Constable (No 743/IRP- 11th Battalion) Birbal son of Hem Raj, resident of Sulgar Jaganu, Udhampur, was stopped.
He said during frisking of the constable, 10 g of heroin was recovered from his possession. “In this connection, a case FIR No 94/2018 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at police station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started while the accused was arrested and recovered heroin seized.
The arrest and recovery was made by Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia, SHO, police station Gandhi Nagar assisted by ASI Shesh Pal, under the close supervision of SDPO, City South, Rafiq Manhas, SP City South, Sandeep Choudhary and SSP Jammu, Vivek Gupta.
