JAMMU, Dec 21: A cop was injured in attack by miscreants near a park at KC Chowk late last night.
As per police sources, a SgCt Ram Murthi posted in District Special Branch along with Head Constable Manoj were travelling in a case when some miscreants attacked them over some altercation near a park at KC Chowk at around 1:15 AM. The miscreants also damaged the car and later escaped from the spot.
In the attack, SgCt received injuries and was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) from where he was later discharged. Head Constable escaped unhurt in the attack.
Sources added that one of the motorcycles has been identified and accordingly a raid was conducted, but its owner was not found.
A case under FIR Number 82/2021 under Sections 332, 341, 427 and 147 IPC has been registered at Police Station Bus Stand and hunt has been launched to nab the miscreants.
