Copper futures fall 0.25% on muted demand, profit-booking

NEW DELHI, Sept 1:  Copper prices drifted lower by 0.25 per cent to Rs 439.70 per kg in futures trade today as participants indulged in reducing positions amid muted demand at the domestic spot markets.
Besides, profit-booking too weighed on prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November shed Rs 1.10, or 0.25 per cent to Rs 439.70 per kg in business turnover of 2,140 lots.
On similar lines, the metal for delivery in far-month February next year eased by 60 paise, or 0.13 per cent to Rs 444.60 per kg in 24 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by traders due to weak demand at the spot markets amid profit-booking, led to decline in copper prices at futures trade. (PTI)
