NEW DELHI, Dec 2: Copper prices fell 0.67 per cent to Rs 400.85 per kg in futures trade today as participants reduced positions amid a weak global trend.
Copper for delivery in February 2015 was down by Rs 2.70, or 0.67 per cent, to Rs 400.85 per kg at the Multi Commodity Exchange in a business volume of 1,368 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in April next year shed Rs 2.70, or 0.66 per cent, to Rs 404.75 per kg in a business volume of 31 lots.
Marketmen attributed the fall in copper futures to weak global cues as crude oil retreated and after a gauge of manufacturing strength fell to an eight-month low in China, the largest consumer of metals.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months at the London Metal Exchange fell 0.7 per cent to USD 6,401.75 a metric tonne. (PTI)
