Copper futures surge on global cues, spot demand

NEW DELHI, July 17: Tracking gains in base metals at the London Metal Exchange, copper prices were up 0.29 per cent to Rs 364 per kg in futures trade today.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November traded higher by Rs 1.05, or 0.29 per cent, at Rs 364 per kg in a business turnover of nine lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in August moved by a Re , or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 357.30 per kg in 870 lots.

Analysts said apart from a firming trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME), rising physical demand at the domestic spot market supported the upside. (PTI)
