Copper softens on muted demand

NEW DELHI, Apr 9:  Copper prices shed Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous market today due to subdued demand from consuming industries.
However, other base metals moved in a narrow range in scattered deals and settled at the last levels.
Traders said sluggish demand from consuming industries and a report of a weak global trend led to the fall in copper prices.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap eased by Rs 2 to Rs 360 per kg.
Following are today’s metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 96-102, Nickel plate (4×4) Rs 834-839, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 360, chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 81, lead imported Rs 87, aluminium ingots Rs 154, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 150, aluminium wire scrap Rs 150 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 148. (PTI)
