Copper weakens on sluggish demand

NEW DELHI, May 31: Copper prices declined by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous metals market today due to sluggish demand from consuming industries.
However, other base metal moved in a narrow range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders said sluggish demand from consuming industries mainly led to decline in copper prices.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap traded Rs 2 lower at Rs 440 per kg.
Following are today’s metal rates per kg:
Zinc ingot 113-119, nickel plate (4×4) 1,091-1,092 gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 440, chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 120, lead imported 118, aluminium ingots 152, Aluminium sheet cutting 153, aluminium wire scrap 155 and aluminium utensils scrap 152. (PTI)
