JAMMU, Mar 3: The two Indian Reserve Police Jawans Constable Azad Chand and Santosh Singh were cremated with full State honour at Chenani and Janyal Punjab today.
According to reports, a large number of mourners including the police officers attended their last rites and gave a touching adieu to them.
Additional SP Udhampur, Benaam Tosh, SDPO Chenani, Gian Chand Sharma and DySP (DAR) Suram Singh participated in last rites of Azad Chand.
SP Kathua, Atul Goel and other police officers and a large number of people from Santosh Singh’s native village Khakukhyal, Kathua participated in his last rites which were performed at village Janyal Punjab where the family was temporarily residing.
The two IRP jawans attained martyrdom in a militant attack at Handwara in Kupwara district of North Kashmir yesterday.
