Cops rescue 118 bovine animals

RAMBAN, Dec 25: Police here today rescued 118 bovine animals being transported illegally to Srinagar in eight vehicles.
These vehicles were bearing Registration Number JK02 BQ-1861, JK 02CV-1420, JK 14B-8681, JK22A-4311, JK19-6091, JK 19A-1491, JK14H-9102 and JK14 C- 3247 and were on way from Jammu to Srinagar.
Cops found these vehicles loaded with 118 bovine animals in utmost cruel and unhygienic conditions without any arrangements for food and water and were being transported to the Valley without any valid permission of competent authority.
In this regard, eight FIRs were registered at Police Station Chanderkote, Police Station Ramban and Police Station Batote.
All the involved vehicles were seized and all accused persons were arrested under relevant sections of law and investigation was started.
The rescue operation was made by police parties under the command of Inspector Sam Pal Gill, SHO Batote; Inspector Sandeep Singh Charak, SHO Ramban and Inspector Padam Dev Singh, SHO Chanderkote under the supervision of Pardeep Singh Sen, DSP HQ Ramban with the overall supervision of SP Ramban, Mohita Sharma.
