DODA, Dec 5: On the directions of SSP Doda, Sandeep Kumar Mehta, Police here today in wee hours foiled a bovine smuggling bid and seized a vehicle involved in the crime besides rescuing three bovines.
Sources informed that cops led by Incharge Police Post Pul Doda while on a Naka duty at Doda-Bhaderwah road intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK19A-1270 coming from Bhaderwah and moving towards Batote.
Seeing cops, driver of the vehicle fled from the spot and during checking of the vehicle, cops found it loaded with three bovine animals, which were tied with rope without feeding arrangements and without any proper permission.
Cops on duty promptly seized the vehicle and registered a case in FIR with number 295/2024 Under Section 223 BNS with 11 PC Act at Police Station Doda and started investigation.
