DODA, Jan 2: Police here today worked out a theft case in which mobile phones and power banks were stolen from a shop of one Mohd Asif, son of Nisar Ali at Bhargi Morh, Gandoh.
The thief involved in the crime has also been arrested within hours.
Police sources informed that a complaint was lodged at Police Station Gandoh today by one Mohd Asif, son of Nisar Ali, resident of Rajpura, Tehsil Gandoh in Doda regarding theft of mobile phones and other electronic gadgets from his shop situated at Bhargi Morh Gandoh last night.
After the receipt of complaint, an FIR with number 01/2025 U/S 305/331(4) BNS was registered at Police Station Gandoh and investigation started.
On the directions of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta, a special Police team was constituted which was led by Dy.SP, Raj Kumar Koul, SDPO Gandoh and Inspector Shahnawaz Giri, SHO Gandoh.
During investigation many suspects were rounded up for questioning and three of them—Mohd Aslam, son of Mohd Abass, resident of Dhrewari, Tehsil Gandoh; Yasir Hussain, son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Dhrewari Tehsil Gandoh and Mohd Shamim, son of Abdul Qayoom, resident of Gowari, Tehsil Gandoh confessed their involvement in the theft.
On their disclosure the stolen items were recovered which included, 13 Mobile Phones, 12 Chargers, 2 Torches, 2 Power Banks and 2 Trimmers.
Investigation in the case was going on till last reports.
