Core issues like water, power crisis priority: Shahnawaz

POONCH, Nov 19: A senior PCC leader Shahnawaz Choudhary, contesting DDC election from Surankote as an independent candidate has said that he has strong desire to serve his people and so he decided to jump into the fray.
Addressing a large public rallies at Surankote and Marhote in Surankote constituency today, Shahnawaz said that he remained grass-root worker and was well aware of the local issues including water and power crisis, condition of roads, health issues etc. “It will be great opportunity for him to serve his people if he is elected to the DDC with the huge support of his people. These core issues will be his top priority,” he added.
Shahnawaz promised his supporters that he will always be there for them and work for the development of the whole constituency. PCC leader said that he felt betrayed when he was refused mandate by the party but the real mandate lies with the general public and they assured him support. “I decided to take this important decision to contest elections independently on public demand,” he maintained.
“I always feel myself as part of the Congress and I consider Rahul Gandhi as my leader and I will always work to flourish the ideology of Gandhi and Nehru. I am sure voters of the constituency will keep everything in mind and vote on the basis of merit,” Shahnawaz asserted.
Many students and scholars who study in various colleges and universities across the region were also present in the rally and extended all the support. Even labourers of the area praised him for the exemplary work he did during lockdown to make their stay in different states easy and then helped them during their safe return as well.
The programme started with vehicle rally and it ended with road show. During road show supporters from the rooftops showered petals of love and waved their hands in his support. He appealed the people to keep the same momentum till the day of elections and make him win this election.
Many prominent persons including Sarpanches/Panches and scholars attended the rally.
