Coriander, kalaunji weakens on sluggish demand

NEW DELHI, Oct 18:  Coriander and kalaunji prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today largely in line with sluggish demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.
Besides, increasing arrivals from producing belts put pressure on select spice prices.
Coriander and kalaunji prices declined by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 9,500-17,000 and Rs 11,900-15,900 per quintal, respectively.
Marketmen said sluggish demand from retailers and stockists at current levels against sufficient stock positions mainly pulled down coriander and kalaunji prices at the wholesale kirana market here.
Following are today’s quotations per quintal:
Ajwain (per kg) 15,500-20,000, black pepper (per kg) 700-850, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,350-1,400 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,500-1,600.
