Coriander, turmeric fall on low demand

NEW DELHI, May 1:  Coriander and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today owing to muted demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks position.
Coriander and turmeric prices drifted lower by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 6,700-12,800 and Rs 6,900-10,100 per quintal, respectively.
Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against increased arrivals from producing belts, mainly pulled down coriander and turmeric prices.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 120-170, black pepper (per kg) 570-750, betel-nut (kg) 250-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 610-620 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 670-1,010.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,150-1,250, cardamom (colour robin) 930–950, cardamom bold 960-980, cardamom extra (bold) 1,110-1,130 and cloves 560-660. (PTI)
